All over the world, dogs of various breeds have puppies that most people take advantage of either selling or giving away as a present. Others open an animal store or pet shop, which allows a very lucrative business.
However, what happens with puppies that are born with a defect, or do not meet the appropriate characteristics to be sold at high prices in the market?
The answer is simple, they are abandoned or, in the best of cases, are given to anyone who wants them.

Unfortunately, they do not always fall into the best hands, as is the case with Beaux Tox, a tender and loving Labrador who was born with a deformity in his skull. This made his face look completely different from other dogs of his breed. During pregnancy, his little siblings compressed him, and his head developed into such a shape.
At birth, nobody wanted to buy the deformed puppy because of the way it looked, and worse, the first owner of it ended up giving it away.
He was turned over to a man who lived in nearby Austin, Texas, and was initially named “Lucky”. However, this man had many cats that did not get along with Lucky, and he ended up being moved to the backyard.
The little dog did not have any kind of comfort. He spent most of his time tied to a tree. He did not receive attention, and he did not have a bed to rest.
Local rescue groups wanted to intervene, but after 5 years, Lucky didn’t know how to behave like an indoor dog.
He repeatedly returned to the courtyard of his first owner. Finally, an angel crossed his path. A rescue group posted a photo of him on the internet requesting a foster home, and after several weeks, he was seen by Jamie Hulit, a woman who loves animals, who encourages respect and rejects the injustices that are committed daily to them.
The moment she saw his photo, she decided she would help him and was willing to give him a better life.

Jamie contacted the people who posted the photo and said that she was willing to give him a home. After a few days, she was at the house of the man who had left Lucky for so long in his backyard.
“I wasn’t really sure what I would find, and I discovered a skinny, sick Labrador who needed a lot of help,” said Jamie. “I didn’t care how sick he was. I just didn’t want him to continue going through different homes.”
Jamie changed his name to Beaux Tox and took him to the Hoegemeyer Animal Clinic in Kerrville, Texas, where he was diagnosed with malnutrition and the deadly “heartworm” parasite, plus he had a serious flea and mite problem in his ears.

He was very weak, and Dr. Jay Rydberg determined that he had a 50% chance of survival. His body would not withstand treatment for the parasite, and he needed oxygen. One night, Dr. Rydberg called Jamie to tell him that he might not make it, but he didn’t; Beaux Tox kept fighting and finally succeeded.
After a few weeks, he gained a few kilos, and although he lost hearing in one of his ears to mites, he received his treatment and health certificate.
Finally, Jamie was able to take him home, where he was met by an older brother, Riley, a 13-year-old Golden Retriever mix who had taught him how to behave inside the home.

Beaux Tox also received therapy and training that allowed him to adapt to his new life, and every effort has been worth it; he is a completely new and happy dog.
Jamie invested approximately $8,000 for the full recovery of this beautiful little dog that touched her heart.
She now has many canine and feline friends due to Jamie being a very active advocate. Also, she has a new rescued sister named Scout that he can play with, and the three of them get along very well… giving Riley some youth back.

Beaux Tox still has an affinity for the outdoors, but he learned to live indoors and enjoy the patio through the window.
A completely charming and inspiring story that shows that with love and dedication, the impossible can be accomplished. This little dog always had a lot to give with a cheerful and playful personality, but his appearance made him spend 5 years of his life in abandonment.

Just look at the life he leads now. All the effort was worth it!
This story represents a beautiful act of nobility and kindness! Beaux Tox turned out to be a free-spirited fighter who was lifted from adversity thanks to this noblewoman who trusted him.
