An act of random kindness can change a person’s life forever. A simple smile can brighten up someone’s gloomy day. In the case of Thyago Costa Silva, his kindness to animals gave them a chance at life, and the heartwarming gesture touched everyone and melted even the hardest of hearts.
Thyago rides his bike often through rough terrain. A month later, while going through another day of bike ride with a friend, professional cyclist Thyago Costa Silva noticed something moving in a hole at the side of the road. Peeking through a hole in the ground, Thyago spotted 5 puppies struggling to survive. The 2 cyclists did not hesitate to help them.
“They were in a super remote place, far away,” Thyago said. “Someone dug the hole and left them there to die. They were weak and couldn’t escape.”
Thyago and his friend gently removed the puppies from the hole and provided each one with a drink from his bottle of water. There was no doubt that the puppies were hungry and very thirsty. However, the little ones still wanted to survive the ordeal, and the bikers gave them hope.
Thyago and his biking companion placed the puppies in their shirts and rode the 12-mile distance home. It was the only way they could bring the puppies to safety. They both knew that the poor pups could not fend for themselves, especially in a remote area with no people in sight. “It was very emotional,” Thyago remarked. “I took them home and took care of them.”
Thyago helped the weak puppies regain their strength, and after a few days, they recovered and were back to being active puppies again. Thanks to the love and care Thyago provided the puppies, they have been given another chance at life. His kind gesture went beyond the affections of a dog owner.
Thyago shared the story of how he found the puppies on social media, and soon each one of them was given the chance to have a normal and happy life. “They were all adopted by good people who love animals,” Thyago said.
Who could have imagined that the heart-wrenching scene on a remote bike trail would end in the sweetest way possible? Now that the puppies have been rescued from a near-death experience, their future seems brighter than ever with loving families in forever homes.
“They will have a better life,” Thyago stated. “I’m sure they will be well taken care of. This makes me so happy.”
