Captain America finally tied the knot! 42-year-old Chris Evans married his girlfriend of 2 years, 26-year-old Alba Baptista, in a private ceremony that was held in an estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on September 9, 2023. According to Page Six, the event took place ‘behind closed doors’, and all guests were to sign NDAs. Mobile phones were also (reportedly) not allowed.
An insider revealed that the star-studded event had Chris’ The Avengers co-stars such as Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr., Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, and Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner. Additionally, People reported that John Krasinski, his wife Emily Blunt, Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataki, and Robert Downey Jr.’s wife Susan, were seen around the Boston area before the wedding event.
In January, Chris shared a video on social media and revealed his relationship with Alba. The cute video showed the couple trying to scare each other. He also revealed that he was reminiscing on a day in 2022 and added 3 heart emojis that made everyone know he had love for the young actress.
In November, reports have disclosed that the Marvel star has been dating Alba for over a year, and their relationship has reached the next level. In the past, Chris has dated Jenny Slate, Minka Kelly, and Jessica Biel. Other rumors claimed he was close to Selena Gomez and Lily Collins. However, it was his relationship with Alba that became serious.
“They are in love, and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her,” a source close to the couple told People. In 2022, Chris revealed in an interview that he was content in his personal life. He also shared that someday, he hopes to settle down with a family.
“That’s absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family,” Chris said. “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them admit it wasn’t the work they made that they are most proud of. Alba Baptista is a budding actress and has a successful career in the showbiz industry. In 2014, she appeared in a short film entitled Miami when she was only 16 years old. The film landed her the coveted Best Actress Award at the Festival Ibérico de Ciné. In her home country, Portugal, Alba also appeared in several films, such as Equinócio by Ivo Ferreira and Caminhos Magnétykos by Edgar Pêra.
Her career in showbiz continued to soar when she appeared in the film Patrick, the directorial debut of Gonçalo Waddington, in 2019. The film competed at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The next year, she worked with Harvey Keitel in the film Fatima.

Alba’s latest work is the lead role in the Netflix series Warrior Nun, as Ava Silva. The series was released in 2020 and ran for 2 seasons before it was canceled. However, a trilogy of feature films is in the works. In 2022, she appeared in the movie Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.
Alba also has a heart for charity and did humanitarian work at an orphanage in Cambodia 4 years ago.
