A Pit Bull puppy was found and rescued by a Good Samaritan. When the cute dog approached the woman, she noticed that there was a metal chain around her neck. The little pooch was found eating trash in a cemetery and was immediately taken to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB). The woman asked for help from the medical staff and showed them the chains on her neck. As they were inspecting the puppy, whose name is Sage, she was wagging her tail the entire time. Sage was prepped for surgery to remove the chain that was tight around her neck.
When he learned of Sage’s unfortunate situation, former WWE wrestler and Marvel actor Dave Bautista, called the shelter and offered assistance. The actor is known for having soft spots for pit bulls. He did not hesitate to foster Sage, and the 3-month-old pit bull puppy that had a rough start in life is finally safe.
“We also observed that Sage has enlarged nails and skin problems in addition to the chain. Who would do this to her? We’re at a loss for words,” the shelter reported.
Dave immediately showed interest in adopting the poor pup once she healed.
Despite having a tough physical look, Dave melted at the sight of the puppy while Sage ran to him. He chuckled and grinned excitedly as she approached. They instantly became great buddies as Dave patted the little dog’s head. However, it was not only Dave who was overjoyed with his foster furbaby. When Sage is in his new Daddy’s arms, she radiates charm, and her cute face lights up.
Dave swore that he would offer $5,000 in cash to the person who would provide information on the whereabouts of the cruel individual who abused the helpless pit bull puppy. He was furious and hoped that the information would lead to an arrest and conviction. In addition to the reward that will be given by Dave, another $5,000 was offered by Alvarez Injury Law, and the $1,500 was granted by HSTB to discover the cruel person.
When Sage fully recuperated, Dave finally adopted her, and the shelter announced the wonderful news on their Facebook page for all their supporters to see.
“When Dave heard Sage’s tale, he understood that she belonged with him! We are ecstatic for Sage!”

Dave changed her name to Penny and will be joining 2 other rescue pit bulls that Dave has at home. “She’s about to experience her finest puppy life ever,” Dave said, as he gladly introduced his newest family member in a video he shared to his followers on Instagram.
