A man is surprised to find a pit bull chained up in the basement of the house he was moving into. Immediately, he called the staff of Stray Rescue of St. Louis. The news broke their hearts.
“I just bought a house, and there is a pit bull chained up in the basement,” the man said. “I’m not sure how long it’s been down there.”
The rescuers immediately fled to the scene. They were informed that squatters were staying in the basement some days ago, and they left garbage scattered everywhere and a helpless dog all alone in the dark and cold room. Fortunately, the poor pup has been rescued in time, and she was very happy.
“When we opened the door to the basement and shined our flashlight down, we saw a wagging tail,” the group’s communications director, Natalie Thomson, said. “She was nearly choking herself as she was so excited to see us. When we freed her, she couldn’t stop jumping up and down and giving hugs.”
Nobody had news about when the dog was left behind and why. However, if she was not found in time, she would not have made it a few more days alone. Fortunately, she was rescued and is now safe with her rescuers.
“There were no food or water bowls that we could see,” Natalie said. “She was not spayed and had no microchip. She is now safe, and due to her excitement, we named her Jumping Bean!”

“What makes the lonely and confining situation Jumping Bean was found in all the worse is the fact that she has such an uncontainable zest for life — and her eagerness to be loved,” Natalie said. “Her personality is completely adorable. She loves everyone she meets and craves attention. She makes sure she is not ignored! She’s an energetic and very affectionate pup! She is so happy all the time.”
And the happy Jumping Bean showed everyone her excitement for life.
