Most socialites resort to plastic surgery when they are not contented with a certain part of their bodies. To improve their looks, they seek the expertise of high-end cosmetic surgeons around the world. It has always been known that contestants of beauty pageants undergo these treatments to look better onstage and win coveted titles. However, some socialites undergo these surgeries to improve their physical looks in society.

A Swiss socialite, Jocelyn Wildenstein, has been known to have extensive cosmetic surgery done, resulting in her “catlike” appearance. Additionally, she has also been known due to her high-profile divorce from a billionaire art dealer and businessman in 1999 and her extravagant lifestyle, which eventually led to a bankruptcy filing. Many people wondered what led to her extensive cosmetic surgeries when, originally, she was a very beautiful blond woman.

Jocelyn (née Jocelyne Périsset) and her husband Alec Wildenstein, a billionaire art dealer and businessman, married in Las Vegas on 30 April 1978. They have 2 children. However, when Jocelyn walked in on her husband with a 19-year-old Russian model, Alex threatened her with a gun which led to his overnight imprisonment. Assuming that he could leave her for a younger woman, Jocelyn resorted to extensive cosmetic surgery for her husband, trying to win back his love.

Jocelyn spent roughly around $4 million for her plastic surgeries and made her eyes more cat-like since her husband loved cats. Additionally, she also had lip augmentation surgery. In the end, the surgeries left a horrific change on her beautiful face, and she has been unrecognizable.

According to Wikipedia, some people have started giving her names, such as “Catwoman”, “The Lion Queen”, and “The Bride of Wildenstein”. Originally, Jocelyn had exquisite facial features and looked very charming. However, due to the multiple surgeries done, her face looked disfigured and puffy. People could not help but gasp when they saw the outcome of her treatments.

Feeling disgusted, her husband Alec said, “Her face is so terrible! She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen!”

Eventually, her husband filed for a divorce and cited their marriage as irreconcilable. In her divorce settlement, Jocelyn received $2.5 billion, and $100 million each year for the following 13 years. However, the judge stipulated that Jocelyn cannot use any of her alimony payments for further plastic surgery processes. In 1999, the high-profile divorce came to an end.

For people who know the couple, the beautiful Jocelyn no longer exists. A comparison photo shows a major difference done to her face. However, Jocelyn claims that she is satisfied with the results of her surgeries.

The following days after her divorce, Jocelyn had frequently become the subject of the media and the object of ridicule by the public and netizens.

According to media reports, Jocelyn is not the only person who had extensive surgery. A Brazilian man named Rodrigo Alves started having cosmetic surgery at the age of 18 since he wanted to be a real-life “Ken” doll from Mattel. He has had more than 50 surgeries so far. Rodrigo also had gel injected into his lips to make them look fuller and her smile brighter. In March 2020, Rodrigo became transgender, adding more plastic surgeries to transform him into a woman completely. Spending more than £650,000 for multiple surgeries, Rodrigo wanted to emulate a Barbie doll. He then changed his name to Jessica Alves.

“I’d always felt feminine, and when I struggled to be manly with my personality, I decided to make my appearance as masculine as possible instead. But no matter how much I looked like Ken, nothing eased the pain of being Barbie inside.” Jessica said.

Although people have the right to pursue enhancements of their own bodies, they should ask pieces of advice from the medical specialists before pursuing any surgeries that may end up with unsuccessful results that can lead to everlasting regret.
