It is common to see pet lovers put a harness on their dogs or cats to walk them outside but have you seen a chicken with a harness?
Recently, the giant e-commerce company, Amazon, offers a harness for chicken so that their owners can take their pet chicken out for a walk.
The chicken harness is the perfect solution for chicken owners to ensure that their pets get enough cardio for the day and take a walk nearly everywhere.
It might be strange but apparently, chickens are fast becoming a domesticated house pet.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, almost one percent of the U.S. population has a fowl (a bird that can lay eggs) including chicken while others said their intention to get one in the next five years.
That means, at least 13 million people in America have a fowl or want to own one. These statistics were however acquired in 2013 but that only means more and more people may have owned a fowl in their house today and Amazon saw a business opportunity from these numbers.
Taking pets out for a walk is common in the U.S. and certainly, chicken owners do not want to miss this opportunity to bond with their pet and get their chickens the cardio they need.
In a review posted by an Amazon customer, the chicken harness has allowed the customer to take their hen out and now, the hen is used to it.
“I have a favorite hen that I can’t resist holding because she’s so fluffy and soft and now I’m able to take her for a walk. It took less than a minute for her to get used to it,” the review wrote.
“Lol, I let her take the lead while she investigated around my yard. Happy chickens lay happy eggs.”
However peculiar this may sound, this chicken harness has already become a favorite among chicken owners and has received positive reviews from those who purchased it.
The chicken harness might become a trend in the nearer future, who knows?
