One selfless man displayed an extraordinary act of kindness when he drove a couple 200 miles to see their dying mom for the last time when their car was damaged in an accident.

He never even asked for a single penny in return!

Couple Ron and Sharleen Gillies, 77 and 58, were traveling south from Edinburgh to Cambridge to make a heartbreaking final stop to see Sharleen’s dying mom for the final time.

But not long into their journey, the worst thing happened. The pair were involved in a car accident.

Thankfully they were okay! But they were devastated and feared they wouldn’t be able to reach Sharleen’s mom in time.

In a panic, they made lots of phone calls but they were told they could only be taken to the nearest train station—and in three hours time!

Time was of the essence, so they feared the worst.

While everyone just drove past them, 40-year-old dad Dean Moore just knew he had to step in and help.

Hero Dean showed up to save the day!

Although he didn’t know the couple, he couldn’t bear to see them in such distress.

“I got in the car to make sure they were alright,” Dean told Teesside Live.

“In my head the only thing that needed to be sorted was for them to get from Teesside to Cambridge. It’s the last time they would see the mam.”

“I was just trying to be a decent human because so many people drove past.”

Thanks to Dean, Sharleen and her partner made it to her mom in time before she sadly passed away.

She was unconscious when the pair arrived but Sharleen managed to talk to her mom and hold her hand before she passed away the following morning.

“I just can’t put into words what that lad did for us,” Ron said.

“This happened on the Sunday and she died the next day, she died on Monday. If it hadn’t been for Dean there’s a fair chance we would have not got there in time.

“People get awards for various things and they are just doing their job, whereas this lad, it wasn’t his job, he didn’t know us from Adam,” Ron added.

Dean said he’s so happy that Sharleen and Ron managed to see Sharleen’s mom one last time.

“By being kind and giving people your time you can make a bad situation nice by being helpful.

“I did what any decent human would have done in that situation.”

Faith in humanity restored!
