As an animal lover, there is nothing weird when you get a dog or a cat, or even a goldfish as your new pet companion. However, this woman had a different interest when she adopted a chick called Bree instead.
Bree was first found abandoned on the side road of Brooklyn, New York when Camille first met the poor bird. She pities the little fluff and decided to save him.
Camille met Bree when he was a five-days-old chick.

“I take it as soon as I saw him and place the little chick on my palm. The chick looked like it felt safe on my hands. So I took it with me to my office and let it look at me working. It was hard not to fall in love with him.”

She decided to take it home with her.

Feeling happy when Bree was with her in the office, Camille’s love for the chick grows and she decided to take it to live with her in her apartment.
“When I was going back that day, I spontaneously said that I need to bring it home, I wanted to take care of it like a mother.”
She wanted to take good care of it.

Bree followed her wherever she goes, he even sneaked into Camille’s warm sweater and cuddled with her. Camille loved taking care of Bree and being loved by Bree was feels no different than having a cat or dog, maybe even babies. Just like that, Bree grew up into a rooster in Camille’s care.
“One day I was lying down on the sofa. Bree was a bit quiet that day, maybe he was not well. The next day when I woke up, Bree was on my chest. Since that day, I feel that Bree has become one of my family members.”
Bree is just like any other domestic pets, be it cats or dogs.

However, taking care of a chicken in a metropolitan city like New York is an offense. Bree is a rooster, so it usually crows in the morning and interrupts the neighborhood. So Camille had to choose to keep it or let it go to the animal shelter.
“I will never take him to the animal shelter.”

Nothing would change Camille’s mind to give up Bree, so she moved from New York to a rural area with open spaces, gardens, and trees where the rooster can enjoy his life freely.
She moved out of New York to keep Bree with her.
