The teenager who was identified as Xiao Ying always had an unbalanced diet until he started feeling really thirsty all the time. On top of him being thirsty, he also experienced fatigue, a loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting.

However, Xiao Ying never went to check his symptoms until one day, he fainted and was rushed to the hospital.

Unfortunately, it was already a little too late as the doctors later diagnosed him with diabetic ketoacidosis.

It is a life-threatening condition which occurs when the body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones as a result of untreated Type 2 diabetes.

This condition could lead to multiple organ failure and death.

According to KKNews, Xiao Ying almost died due to his health being in such a serious condition.

Apparently, his blood sugar levels were too high, at least 20 times higher than a normal person.

Xiao Ying’s blood sugar levels were reportedly at 124mmol/L, compared to a normal person’s blood sugar level which would be around 3.9 and 6.1mmol/L.

The doctors later learned that Xiao Ying had lived a very unhealthy lifestyle which explained why he was obese and weighing at 100 kilograms.

He used to have barbecues, fried food, and beverages with high sugar content such as soft drinks and milk tea on a daily basis.

It certainly did not help when he preferred the sugary drinks over plain water and consumed it whenever he liked.

Fortunately, Xiao Ying had a second chance to fix his unhealthy lifestyle. He promised to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle following the diagnosis.

Hopefully, Xiao Ying could stay clear of the sugary beverages and high-calorie foods, at least until he could control his diabetes and lose weight!
