Thailand fan’s favorite, Jennifer Paweensuda Drouin, 25, was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2019 last Saturday night after defeating over 56 other contestants.

Paweensuda has been participating in beauty pageants for more than six years before she finally won the judges’ hearts and turned her dream to become Miss Universe Thailand into reality.

“I’ve been in so many pageants, but my dream has always been Miss Universe Thailand,” Paweensuda told Khaosod.

Here are five interesting facts about Paweensuda who will be representing Thailand in Miss Universe 2019 finals later this year that you may not know.

  1. Half Thailand, half Canadian

Paweensuda was born on 12 October 1993 In Montreal to a Thai mother and a Canadian father. She spent her childhood in Canada and graduated from the University of Calgary in kinesiology before she decided to move to Thailand to pursue her modeling and DJ career.

According to reports, Paweensuda is also talented as a DJ and is more than able to spin some hot tracks for an event.

She may have waited for six years to finally get crowned as a Miss Universe Thailand but Paweensuda has entered several major beauty pageants since 2013 and has won some titles.

In 2013, she won the 1st Runner-Up in Miss Thailand and emerged as the 2nd Runner-Up for Miss Universe Thailand 2017. Paweensuda was also in the top 8 in Miss Earth 2017.

A crowd favorite in Thailand, Paweensuda won many hearts with her captivating beauty and charming attitude. Thus, it is no surprise that her fans called her ‘Fahsai’ which means ‘clear sky’ in Thai language.

‘Fah’ means sky while ‘Sai’ means clear. The nickname has definitely perfectly captured Paweensuda’s beauty!

When she won Miss Universe Thailand 2019 title, Paweensuda was given US$ 49,039.50 but that was not all she received.

She also got a Volkswagen and a condominium which brings the total of her prize to a whopping US$ 562,319.60 in gifts and prizes!
