It is already tough enough to make ends meet but this homeless man from Thailand always makes sure all the stray cats he sees get fed enough food every day.
The homeless man named Loong Dum has been selling limes at the Mo Chit BTS train station in the bustling city of Bangkok in Thailand.
The sales from selling the limes often go to buying food for all the stray cats around him, even that means he will not have enough food for himself sometimes.
He has been caring for the stray cats ever since he came across one.
His story first made rounds on social media after a young woman named Warunya Wattanasupachoke saw Loong Dum selling limes.
Next to him was a sign saying, “20 baht per bag, profits will pay for stray cat’s food expenses.”
Warunya then decided to buy several bags of limes from the homeless man. However, she later learned that the limes were given by a kind-hearted person to him free of charge.
To Loong Dum, the stray cats that accompany him every day are his family and they rely on him.
“I’m fine with skipping meals, but the cat needs to eat,” he said.
Upon knowing about Loong Dum’s story, Warunya learned that there is more to a person that meets the eye.
“We shouldn’t judge someone based on their appearance,” Warunya said. “Take Loong Dum for example. Though he is homeless and rugged-looking, he has a big heart.”
After Loong Dum’s story went viral on the internet, many concerned citizens offered to lend him a helping hand.
Some people came to buy his limes while others dropped off cat food and supplies for him and the stray cats.
Nevertheless, his story did not end at the donations he received from kind-hearted locals.
Recently, Loong Dum got the chance to get a fresh haircut, new clothing and other supplies from some good Samaritans.
Shortly after he got a new makeover, Loong Dum returned to his fruit stall to sell some limes so that he could feed the stray cats for the day.
Loong Dum’s story is definitely eye-opening and a prime example for not judging people based on their appearances.
Despite being homeless, Loong Dum cares more about others than most of us ever did.
