Husband and father Jon Newman melted the hearts of internet users around the world when he was photographed sitting outside his sick wife’s room to keep her company as she underwent cancer treatment in isolation.
While marriage is no easy feat, Jon showed the world what true love is all about with his touching gestures, sticking to his wedding vows to love his wife “in sickness and in health”.
His wife, Marci, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in October 2016, and Jon decided he wouldn’t let her go through any of it alone!
Their daughter, 17-year-old Mackenna from California, captured the sweet moment and shared the photo on Twitter.
She uploaded the sweet image with the caption, “My mom has to stay in her room in isolation for her cancer radiation so my dad set up a desk at her door to keep her company and I’m crying.”
He found the sweetest way to stay by her side.
And now social media users are super emotional about the whole thing.
“I want someone to love me that much,“ one Twitter user commented.
“A man who took his wedding vows seriously. Awesome!,” another said.
And one person wrote, “Oh bless his heart that is the most beautiful thing I have seen thank you for sharing!!!”
Later, Marci told BuzzFeed News her husband is always by her side.
“Jon goes to every doctor’s appointment, every blood test, every surgery, every radiation.
“And, as you can see, if he can’t be by my side he is as close as he can get!”
“My husband makes coffee every morning and brings it to me and since I got sick he brings my breakfast too. Your Prince is out there,” she Tweeted.
How sweet!
And just over a year later, Mackenna shared on Twitter that her mom was cancer-free. What amazing news!
She shared pictures of her loved-up parents, and wrote, “Update: my moms cancer marker is officially at zero!! Cheers to the strongest couple I know #cancersurvivor.”
This beautiful moment has definitely melted our hearts. What a loving husband.
