A video of a daughter signing a rock concert in Alberta, Canada to her deaf dad has gone viral on social media. The heartwarming clip, which was uploaded by a fellow concert-goer, has been viewed almost 25 million times and shared 400,000 times in just over a week!
The sweet video footage of Karri Carberry, 19 signing the lyrics to her dad Darrin was captured by a lady named Jules Maria, who was mesmerized by her moving actions at the Three Days Grace concert on Wednesday.
In the viral Facebook post, she wrote, “At last night’s concert, we witnessed something absolutely beautiful. We saw this girl and a man who seemed to require a lot of dancing room, irritating at first until we realized what was happening. Her father is deaf, she was signing the lyrics to him.”
As soon as Jules noticed what Karri was doing, she was touched and made way for the duo to enjoy themselves.
Soon, she wasn’t even paying attention to the concert anymore! The pair were stars of the show.
“We couldn’t care less about what was happening on stage, watching them was absolutely mesmerizing,” Jules added.
Karri and her dad just wanted to enjoy the moment—they didn’t care that people were staring at them!
Darrin, 53, was born deaf but wears a hearing aid in one ear which gives him some hearing.
“We were in the crowd just having fun and I decided to start singning the lyrics to my dad so he could know which songs were playing,” she told Yahoo!
People all around the world have contacted Karri to tell her how moving her gesture was.
“People are telling me they are moved to tears by this video and there is so much positive feedback,” she says. “It’s all a little overwhelming but at the same time it’s all so surreal!,” she added.
Three Days Grace band members even got in touch with Karri on Facebook, to tell her how amazing they found the clip.
We’re sure Darrin feels very proud and lucky to have such a sweet daughter like Karri!
At last night's concert, we witnessed something absolutely beautiful. Keep In mind this was a rock concert (Three Days Grace in Edmonton). We saw this girl and a man who seemed to require a lot of dancing room, irritating at first until we realized what was happening. Her father is deaf, she was signing the lyrics to him. We couldn't care less about what was happening on stage, watching them was absolutely mesmerizing. They were both very sweet and her father was very proud of his daughter. So here's one of the songs, sorry just a crappy snippet of what happened.
