The 22-year-old man’s name is Mamoudou Gassama, acted immediately after he saw the child in danger. He climbed the apartment wall, pulling himself up balcony to balcony until he reached the fourth story where the child was hanging on for dear life. He then hauled the four-year-old to safety all by himself.

Gassama arrived in France a few months prior to this video because he dreamed of procuring a better life for himself in the country

He said “I just climbed up and thank God, God helped me. The more I climbed the more I had the courage to climb up higher, that’s it”

“Luckily, there was someone who was physically fit and who had the courage to go and get the child” said a spokesperson with regards to the incident.
