When Heidi and Ed Savitt got married last summer, little did they know that there would be an unbelievable twist in their marriage.

The couple first met at Newcastle University in 2001 where Ed was studying Psychology and Business while Heidi was studying Economics and Management. Their relationship started when Ed messaged Heidi asking her how to use the tumble drier at the student accommodation since Heidi was the previous tenant.

And that simple favour turned out to be the beginning of a romantic relationship between the lovely couple

The couple soon started dating and they had been together for four years when they had dinner with their mothers on one night in Southwest London.

That night, the couple went out for a dinner along with Heidi’s mother, Kay and Ed’s mother, Fiona. Fiona and Kay quickly hit it off as they started to share love of sailing holidays. During the dinner, Kay also mentioned that Heidi had a romantic fling with a kid named Ed whom she met when their family was on a holiday vacation. Heidi was six years old when she met the kid.

Kay told that the pair played together and spent most of their time holding each other’s hands during the two-week vacation in Gumbet, Turkey

They just thought that it was a strange coincidence but the conversation quickly moved onto other topics. However, it was not until two weeks later when Kay realised that the boy Heidi had a crush on when she was six years old turned out to be her husband, Ed!

At that time, Kay was going through her attic when she accidentally discovered an old photo of Heidi standing side by side to the young Ed.

After a long stare at the photo, she recognised that the boy was actually Ed!

“I was screaming, it was just unreal. Of course, I sent it to Fiona. Then loads more photographs came out,” Kay said.

“None of us had any idea whatsoever that Heidi and Ed had met before university. But during that two-week holiday, they held hands most of the time”

“Perhaps they just had a subconscious realisation they had shared that time together when they met as adults.”

“It’s crazy to think we could have got married, shared our lives together, but then never found out about this,” Heidi said. “From the moment we started dating we were inseparable and knew we were going to be together forever”

“It absolutely blows my mind that we could have never found out that we first knew each other all those years ago”

Who knows that love would make its way after 20 years later like this lovely lovebirds? Looks like they are already destined to be together all this time!
