These girls from Atlanta ,Texas are known for having a close bond with the chickens their family keeps. Holley Burns is the mother of 13-year-old Savannah who has formed an especially endearing relationship with her pet rooster named ‘Frog’.

Holley explained “He didn’t walk — he hopped. My son was like, ‘It’s hopping like a frog. We should name him ‘Frog.’ Holley noted that Frog didn’t behave like the other chickens as he preferred to hang out with humans and the other animals they have in their farm.

Holley said “He was very attentive.”

“He wasn’t interested in what the chickens were doing, he was interested in what the humans were doing” and continued to speculate saying “I don’t think he thinks he’s a rooster,” she added.

It wasn’t long after Frog was born when he decided which was his favorite human. When he was still a little chick, Savannah used to carry him around with her wherever she went. “She’d take him to the laundry room and he’d watch attentively,” said Holley. “She’d go and wash dishes and she’d set him up on the counter and he’d watch her wash the dishes.”

They were inseparable as Frog loved to hang around Savannah while she reads and watch television. Holley stated that her daughter had always been good with animals but the friendship she had developed with Frog is special. To show just how close a bond these two have, take for example what happens on school days!

“She’d go and wash dishes and she’d set him up on the counter and he’d watch her wash the dishes”

Every morning without fail, Frog will walk alongside Savannah until the bus stop and accompany her until she gets into the school bus. That’s not all, Frog will also faithfully wait for Savannah to return from school every day.

If Frog finds that Savannah and her brother do not get of the school bus as per usual, the protective chicken will try and hop onto the school bus in search for them. Luckily, the bus driver is familiar with the rooster and will make sure it’s safe before leaving the bus stop.
