Some parents are eager to know the gender of their unborn baby, but others prefer to have a little surprise during birth delivery, like this mom from Georgia.
Dara Crouch, 29, is already a mom to her 3-year-old daughter. As a labor and delivery nurse, she decided to leave the gender a surprise for her second child. But when a baby boy was born, she was shocked. Luckily, a photographer captured that priceless expression.
“I just knew I was having a girl,” Dara told TODAY in an interview. She thought it would be impossible to have a boy since no one on her mother’s side of the family had given birth to a son in 50 years.
She said she felt “shock more than anything.”
Ker-Fox, a photographer and a family friend of Dara, has taken over 100 birth photos since 2011.
Speaking of Dara’s reaction, she said, “I’ve seen surprises, but Dara had by far the most genuine reaction”

“Five minutes before it was time to start pushing, the couple again started thinking about the possibility of a boy,” she said.
She also recalled how Dara responded the moment the midwife told her it was a boy: “Oh my gosh! It’s a boy; I can’t believe it’s a boy!”

Being a nurse, Dara described how she feels at work and when she gave birth: “As a labor and delivery nurse you get the emotions going on in the room … you sometimes bond a lot when you’ve been taking care of someone for 12-plus hours. But nothing compares with the excitement I felt with Liam”

The photos were later posted on the Facebook and Instagram page of Birth Without Fear
